My DSi connects to the internet, but my game won't. HELP!!!

Hey guys

I have a black Nintendo DSi that connects to the internet just fine, I ran a connection test and tried using the Internet channel, and both work on my DSi. But when I try to play a game, specifically Pokemon Platinum, online, it somehow won't connect. Anyone know a remedy to this?!

DS games don't support all types of newer internet encryptions even though the DSi does.
