I just started playing the first Golden Sun a few days ago, and I caught up to where I got before, so everything from this point on is brand new for me. :) I realize this is hardly retro retro, but it is a generation back.

Was wondering if anyone else is playing any old games?

Well I tried playing Chrono Trigger but I stopped because I got bored also would you count playing Super Mario World on the DS retro because I'm currently playing it :)

I kind of agree with you but then I kind of don't because I don't know how rare it was or if it had sentimental value to him, also I don't think he is "depressed" but sad because depression is extreme sadness.

Yep, it's an RPG, and for a game that's a decade old now (I think), it is actually holding up pretty good.

Is it like Final Fantasy, because I really love those games and it would be nice to try something new.

You level up, do turn base battles, cast magic (psyenergy), wield magical weapons, go through a story line and summon things. :x
Then again that is more of a typical turn based rpg I suppose as well.

So define what makes it Final Fantasy first?

Well pretty much what you said is what makes it final fantasy, now I'm going to give the game a try & hopefully I like it :)
