Quantic Dream co-founder Guillaume de Fondaumiere estimate the studio lost between 5 and 10 million ($6.8 and $13.7 million) worth of royalties on Heavy Rain (http://joystiq.com/game/heavy-rain) because of used sales (http://joystiq.com/tag/gamestop).

"We basically sold to date approximately two million units, we know from the trophy system that probably more than three million people bought this game and played it," de Fondaumiere toldGI.biz (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2011-09-12-quantic-dream-we-lost-and-8364-10m-on-second-hand-heavy-rain-sales). "On my small level it's a million people playing my game without giving me one cent."

(http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/12/heavy-rain-developer-estimates-13m-loss-on-second-hand-sales/)I was reading this and I can't help but think boo hoo. Second hand sales are part of any industry and frankly this is even worse than piracy estimates. I think it is a little childish to even mention this estimate. I lend frequently and I don't feel bad about it at all.

Wow that's like half of how many they sold. Blame GameStop.
