Hey guys!

So I was *THINKING* (note that this is not at all confirmed) but now that it looks like MyBB might be fit for the job pairing up with Wordpress, I was wondering which look you like better. I am taking the MyBB themes and going to most likely try and make a Wordpress theme that looks similar. (Which I'm not even sure I have the skills to do)

But before I commit myself, I want to know which of the two that I picked out you guys like better:

Look #1: Vision

Look #2 - Silent Wave

Thanks guys!

Silent Wave won my heart - some of the Vision parts are sort of ugly.

My personal preference is with Vision.

It's 7-3 already. How many votes do you want, Pharaoh?

Silent Wave is so much better. Why is everyone voting that other one.

I swear I've talked to you about this before, Jakob. Is it so hard for you to grasp the concept of personal preference?

Okay, good news bad news situation here. Let's get the bad news over with.... mybb and that design is a dead stick. Integration-wise, it would be possible, but a pain in the ass to maintain, which is the exact same problem this current design has.

The GOOOOD news is, there's one more route I can take... the one that requires money, and not a whole lot of effort. Cough cough, hint hint, nudge nudge...

Paying someone to do it or pirating another forums software?

Going with another forum software. Not pirating it, actually buying it.

NO pirate it. Trust me its worth it. My friend pirated a vBullitin forum and nothing happened to him. It worked for 2 months except than he got some database error but that had nothing to do with pirating vBullitin.

I don't think it is worth the risk. If I truly had no other option, I would rather stick with phpbb3 or something.

Honestly it's the same risk as downloading mp3s that you don't legally own.

However I wasn't suggesting you pirate it I was just asking if that's what you're thinking. I think it's best to buy it...it's kind of like buying your anti virus instead of using a serial gen for it, it just makes things easier for updates and maintaining it.

Well I realize the risk is rather low, but the funding comes from DSDatabase's awesome sponsors. Gamekool, 4CoolDay and 0ShippingZone have each decided to contribute for a portion of the charge. Nothing is set in stone, I'm still seeing how much the bill will be for each of them, and if any other sponsors want to jump in, etc.

It LOOKS like the transfer to IPB will be a little easier, but in the long run, vB seems to be easier to manage (integration wise)

Heyheyhey, someone's going to get suspicious if we keep talking about pirating something worth 300 dollars.

Free or not, I really think it would be much better for DSDatabase in general if you can happily say that you truthfully bought vbulliten. Plus, the FBI won't come crashing down into your front door.
