Last day to sign up is October 26th 2007

TOURNAMENT BEGINS OCTOBER 29th 2007
A tournament chart will be created by me to show where you are in the tournament. I will be picking names out of a box to determine who plays against who for the first round.

Tournament Format:
- Two player friend matches
- Deathmatch mode
- Pirates theme
- Beginners Scheme
- ANY Landscape
- Winner of best 2 out of 3 advances to the next round
- A separate forum section will be opened for discussion of times to play
- You will have 24 hours per round to decide on a suitable time and complete the match
- The entire tournament's end time will depend on how many entries we receive by the 26th

Disqualifications:
- CHEATERS AND HACKERS WILL BE DQ'D + IP BANNED FROM THESE FORUMS PERMANENTLY (no programs or tools except for your fingers)
- Matches MUST be completed within 24hours per round. If not, the person who is responsible for the delay will be DQ'd- This is an honor system, if both contestants claim they won, we'll have no choice but to DQ both players from the tournament and remove their names from the tournament raffle
- Admins reserve the right to DQ users suspected of foul play

Further Notes:
- Admins/Moderators WILL also be participating in this tournament if they so choose, as it is a tournament to showoff skill. Unlike the free raffle, there are no biases, only pure skill.
- If a winner decides they don't have time to continue in the tournament, they are allowed to pass their spot in the tournament to the losing opponent.
- If our prize winner does not wish to receive the prize, the prize will go to the runner up in the tournament.

Special thanks to the AceKard team for providing the prize for this tournament!
- 1st Place receives an AceKard RPG
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place receives a title and badge for this forum.
You can read DS Database?s official review of the AceKard RPG here (http://dsdatabase.org/Acekardrpg.html).

Unfortunately, because of the huge shortages of the AceKard RPG cart, the AceKard team can only guarantee one will be available at the end of the tournament. However, if the shortage is no longer a problem, we will have more prizes. Rules regarding these prizes will be decided then.

The AceKard RPG is a flashcart that features both built in memory and a MicroSD slot. It has a completely open source firmware. To learn more read here (http://dsdatabase.org/Acekardrpg.html).

**Further rules may be added as time passes, but these are all I can come up with right now. Feel free to suggest rules for our consideration.**

Do we have to play 3 rounds?
Because if I have won 2 rounds, then its no use in playing a third round.

Exactly, best two out of three.

Looking at the second round line up, seems round 3 will have 7 players. Will one player be sitting out round 3 to join the three who enter round 4?

Yup!

I request the mods to emphasis on using some kind of chat clients for the upcoming tournaments. IRC, MSN, Yahoo, GTalk etc. This will help us in running the tournament faster and it will be better because people would get each other online easily. Please give your views.

Good idea, perhaps I'll make it mandatory to use MSN or something.

Thanks! PharaohsVizier. We could also use this link to open a Webpage chat room on EFnet Servers. chat.efnet.org/irc.cgi?adv=1&chan=%23DSDatabaseTournament Editing the link would make more rooms and It will be accessible from both IRC clients like mIRC or XChat and Internet Browsers.
