Everything below the line is irrelevant. This post was made quite a long time ago, and I thought there was good discussion that could be continued.

Anyways, we are here to discuss what games you want to play for DSDatabase tournaments, keep in mind that these could be minigames within a game, a forum game, a contest, it doesn't have to be restricted to DS games.

Anyways, I look here for suggestions, if a game is clearly unpopular, then I won't use it for the next tournament, simple. So seeing the not so many suggestions, one or two comments could make a huge difference, if you really like a game, and you speak up about it, chances are it will be a tournament game sooner or later.

Hi everybody,

With the Tetris DS Tournament finals closing in fast, we are already planning our next DS Database tournament. At the moment, we are trying to sort out the basic details of the tournament.

At this point, nothing is written in stone, but we are trying to get something along the lines of a few Acekard RPGs or if something new comes out (as someone has repeatedly hinted to me), perhaps that. There are no guarantees but that is what we are aiming for. If you have any other suggestions such as older flash carts, feel free to add it in this thread and we will try to pick out what the best options are for us and the winners.

We are quite confused at the moment with the game that will be attributed to the tournament. In this point in time, all we can say is that it should be WiFi enabled. Because of this, we are starting this thread, and this poll. If you feel that a particular game should be chosen, it would help us loads if you would pick the option. Obviously try and pick games that are fair and even, and obviously fun.

NOTE: I am adding Tetris DS to the list, but I prefer not doing Tetris DS because it has been done already. So unless there is an incredibly huge amount of votes for it, I am avoiding Tetris DS.

Thanks for reading this,

PS. Comments, suggestions, anything like that would be highly appreciated.

Hi, i have a litle idea, why not a pokemon contest?
Without shiney , AR or legendairies

09-12-2007, 10:06 AM
je veux un concour de bomberman...

09-12-2007, 01:30 PM
Worms sounds great to me... See if you can get your hands on some of those Ewin expansion packs!

- Sam

09-12-2007, 06:47 PM
Yea I was aiming for a lot of different products, not sure what. Originally I was thinking aobut the eWin Expansion packs or even the EZ Flash 3 in 1. I'll still have to see what I can get.

09-12-2007, 07:38 PM
Mais j'ai deja l'expention pack 3in1^^
Un coucours bomberman est une bonne idée! I will try to win :)

09-12-2007, 08:11 PM
Go French ppl.... :)

I think I understood what that meant. Either way, ummm you can sell the extra? Give it to your friends? None of this is solid yet.

09-12-2007, 08:36 PM
Bonne idée , it's i good gift , my friend just got a r4!
Mais je ne suis pas sur de gagner ^^

09-13-2007, 01:49 AM
IM thinking bomberman or mkds, im thinking more mkds because it will attract more ppl to the website and it would show off skill :)

09-13-2007, 01:59 AM
u forgot to add jump ulitmate stars and maybe u can add pokemon but with ALOT of restrictions

09-13-2007, 02:16 AM
I'm not too sure about JUS but you can vote others, as for Pokemon, it would be insanely hard to maintain some sort of rule, that is why I don't think it would be a wise choice, especially with things like PokeSav out there.

09-13-2007, 06:57 PM
Pokesav? I think it's for cheat
JUS is a good choise too!

09-13-2007, 07:41 PM
pokemon wouldnt work period.

09-13-2007, 08:08 PM
Maybe ^^
I think mario kart is good

09-13-2007, 08:17 PM
I don't know how we would deal with snaking in Mario Kart, there are people who hate snakers, and some who think of it as a skill. Personally, I don't know which category I fit in, but I'd hate to set up a tourney dealing with this kind of division.

09-13-2007, 08:39 PM
What's 'snaking'?

09-13-2007, 09:19 PM
Snaking is when you zig zag using mini boosts.

09-13-2007, 09:19 PM
Ok! thx

09-14-2007, 01:25 PM
Worms Open WarFare 2 ftw!

09-14-2007, 06:34 PM

09-15-2007, 03:03 AM
I actually vote for Yu-Gi-Oh! GX - Spirit Caller :)

09-15-2007, 03:54 AM
I have the best idea for a tourney thats requires teamwork :)

A pokemon battle 2 vs 2
No legends, No shiny
Sounds good right
Have 6 pokemon ready to switch around the next round to keep it fresh

Sounds goood right

09-15-2007, 03:57 AM
I just noticed something Sonic Rush adventure came out today and its a wifi battle game so lets do sonic, pokemon or mario

the three basic nintendo food groups lol :)

09-15-2007, 06:04 PM
Agreed bombflame!

09-15-2007, 06:20 PM

Anyone else want to have a sonic torney or major rule tag team pokemon tourney

09-15-2007, 10:53 PM
I think id be like an automatic winner for MKDS, so i voted for it lol

09-16-2007, 02:13 AM
I am better than you ]:)

09-16-2007, 03:44 AM
in what

09-16-2007, 07:33 AM
Mario kart

09-16-2007, 10:19 AM
i am all for worms!

09-16-2007, 12:10 PM
lol.. cmonnnnn yugioh...

09-16-2007, 12:23 PM
I don't love WOW2

09-16-2007, 01:27 PM
I am better than you ]:)
lol there is 0% chance of that being true

09-17-2007, 02:34 PM
Me thinks he jests. He didn't even know about snaking... (although it could be just the term)

BTW: WOW2 is winning~

Super Banana Bomb for the winner, i say!

09-17-2007, 02:44 PM
I couldn't even get WOW2 working lol

I wish Sonic had more support =/ I have a few top ten times so far.

09-21-2007, 12:04 PM
WOW2 is good IMO, but I wouldnt mind a MKDS tourney.

09-21-2007, 12:28 PM
welll seems like the votes are going WOW2
now all we need is a sponsor...

09-21-2007, 04:31 PM
I picked WOW2, it's darn fun and I've yet to play it much multiplayer.
On that note, I have to get my wifi working again xD

09-24-2007, 12:34 AM
I wish Yu Gi Oh was getting more votes but after playing Worms 2 i got to say it would be a great tournament with it.

09-24-2007, 02:03 AM
Mario kart!Mario kart!Mario kart!

09-24-2007, 03:19 AM
Worms. I think it'd be mad fun.

09-29-2007, 04:27 PM
Pretty clear that the winner is Worms Open Warfare. At the moment, the prizes are still up in the air, but AceKard team seems to be pretty good about giving some AceKard RPG's away. :)

09-30-2007, 03:34 AM
how about two tourneys? one MKDS and one WOW, maybe we could do both, or you could just pick one.

*pushes for MKDS cus is so good at it*

09-30-2007, 06:13 AM
Maybe play an opening round of WOW2, and then divide the winners to the winner bracket and the losers to the loser bracket.
The winner bracket keeps playing WOW2 and the loser bracket plays MKDS.
Then when we have a winner in both the winner bracket and the loser bracket, they'll face eachother in a WOW2 match.

Hmm... it might be difficult to divide the prices then, just a suggestion. :D

09-30-2007, 05:51 PM
That is very complicated if we do two separate games, and I'm sure there will be those who will complain. The tournament is going to be 100% Worms Open Warfare 2. Mario Kart DS will come some other time I'm sure of it.

10-01-2007, 05:15 AM

Im saving this in a txt document :drunken:

10-08-2007, 02:33 AM
Wow. I haven't even really spent anytime with WOW2 yet. I better start playing.

Any planned date for the tourney yet?

10-08-2007, 12:37 PM
As soon as the AceKard Team confirms the prizes and how many, etc because most of their team is on holiday right now. :(

10-08-2007, 03:28 PM
So the prizes will be AK RPGs?

- Sam

10-08-2007, 05:05 PM
I am pretty sure it will be.

10-08-2007, 05:25 PM

10-08-2007, 10:04 PM
C'mon guys :) get this done with! I want mario kartaaaa tournament so I can win something in my life :P

10-08-2007, 10:06 PM
Lol I'm sorry about the delay, stupid National Holiday.... :(

10-08-2007, 10:08 PM
Im guessing the Acekard team is based in china? What is it celebrating? Independence or something?

10-12-2007, 01:28 AM
Unfortunately for us, AceKard team has replied, and they have told me that they have shortages with the AceKards, and to them the dealers come first. So they can only guarantee one AceKard RPG will be given out, however, over time, depending on demand and production, they said that they may provide more. The sign up list will be posted up very soon, in a day or two, once I have decided on the rules and such.

10-12-2007, 07:06 PM
Well prizes are great but if you can't find a sponsor remember that we can still have tournament just for bragging rights :)

10-16-2007, 10:25 PM
BLEACH 2!!!! lol.

10-16-2007, 10:52 PM
Little late...

12-01-2007, 08:43 AM
I know this is late, but for the next tourney, Jump Ultimate Stars?

12-01-2007, 03:44 PM
Perhaps... I will start another poll soon. I would generally like to stay away from Japanese games because sometimes people have a hard time getting into it.

12-02-2007, 11:21 AM

Guess I'm going to go through the 1700+ games to find a wifi game I'm good at.

12-03-2007, 01:28 AM
metroid prime hunters

12-05-2007, 12:46 AM
Mario kart!

12-05-2007, 06:07 AM
Mario kart!
Really, but if that was the game Id feel bad if there is only one prize. Im gonna own

12-06-2007, 08:36 PM
I would like to see a Mortal Kombat in the future list, I'm not good at it but i think it would b a blast.

12-11-2007, 05:17 PM
Yu-Gi-Oh 08. Best game eva! (for now.

12-11-2007, 06:48 PM
Still locating prizes...

12-11-2007, 08:48 PM
Still locating prizes...
If worst comes to worse, you have plenty of review carts
_edit-Draglade is very fun, but honestly its wifi is too laggy.

12-11-2007, 08:50 PM
Lol true, but I'm not sure if people want carts that have been tampered with, and some of the review carts aren't up to the standards of the newer carts, sometimes the disks aren't real, etc...

12-18-2007, 05:58 PM
The next tournament should be WordJong! Seriously

01-04-2008, 10:17 AM
I like MKDS, but maybe we could have a Bleach Blade of Fate tourney or JUMP Ultimate stars!

Eitherway ,id love the prize to be a EZ 3in1 (coz i need 1)

07-15-2008, 07:52 PM
Just wanted to revive this topic and remind people that new suggestions are always welcomed as tournaments are going to continuously happen at DSDatabase. We are nearing the end of the Mario Kart DS Tournament, and preparations are already beginning for the next one. We are already on the lookout for some sponsors! :) So keep those requests coming.

Personally, I wanted to do Clubhouse Games, playing a game of Chess, but then again, that may take far too long, or be too old-fashioned. It doesn't even have to be a game!

07-16-2008, 04:09 PM
It's too bad some of the newer games don't have WFC. Doodle Hex or Jigsaw World would have been great fun, not to mention let everyone start on even footing.

07-16-2008, 04:29 PM
Awwww yea, that would have been awesome. :(

07-17-2008, 02:08 PM
Doesnt space invaders extreme have online wifi battles??

I loved that game it was just sooo addictive..

Whats another popular DS wifi game??

07-17-2008, 02:12 PM
Apparently Space Invaders Extreme has online WiFi, I only played a bit of single player, it is really good, but I don't know how WiFi works yet. Well I know Bleach is pretty popular but it lags like hell, someone mentioned Ultimate Mortal Kombat (is it even released yet?), YuGiOh is also nice if the use of hacks to build a real deck is allowed, etc.

07-17-2008, 02:15 PM

Ive played Ultimate Mortal Combat (i thought it was rubbish)

ive played Space Invaders extreme with a mate, but not over wifi.

And what you had to do was see who could stay alive the longest!

07-17-2008, 02:21 PM
Lol that does sound pretty awesome. :)

07-17-2008, 02:23 PM
wooo i made a good suggestion, and i dont think any1 will be masterful at it..

well i hope not, if im gonna participate in it lol

07-18-2008, 12:56 AM
I'm pretty into Space Invaders Extreme now, it is pretty good.

Now, what do you guys think about Metroid Prime Hunters, is it balanced enough to avoid major conflict?

07-18-2008, 05:27 AM
Saw your post on GBATemp and thought I might pitch some ideas.

Custom Robo(best 2 of 3)
Advance Wars Days of Ruin(everybody plays same map so won't be as long)
Jump Ultimate Stars(best 2 of 3)

Or you could try something like this have a tourney where each round's game is picked randomly by using a Random Number Generator online. When you play each game once you can't play that again in another round until you play each at least once.

07-19-2008, 12:59 AM

Hmm...lag shooting tends to be the major killer of the game. If you can lag shoot well, you can win. Also, expect people to be alt spamming tards, health pack whores, etc.
I'd go with these rules if it were to be made
Non Imperialist
First to 7/7minutes
No deathalt

Yeah...Civ Rev has wifi, but that could take years...Dragblade is very fun, but soooo much lag like 10fps online sometimes...All EA sports have lag...

07-19-2008, 04:49 AM

Although now that I think about it, it probably would be cool to have a place where you can set up games to play that aren't tournaments.

07-19-2008, 02:14 PM
As in in this forum?

07-19-2008, 02:21 PM
O forgot to mention, some of you might want to know that besides flash carts (which I have yet to confirm), I have confirmed a few Pro Battle Styluses from our good friends at PDS Panache as a prize. Some of you might think it is a cheap kind of prize, but I'd give up a flash cart for one of those any day, they are SO AWESOME. :)

07-19-2008, 05:13 PM
Please no Metroid tourney, i didnt really like Hunters..

ive played Custom Robo and it was a great game... but id have to complete it again to get all the good parts..

JUMP is also a great game, but i dont think loads of people will have it.. but then again im probably wrong..

Advance Wars.. takes to long.. lol

Lol this post is me being selfish as i want those Styluses lol

07-19-2008, 11:25 PM
Apparently space invaders extreme lags a lot

07-20-2008, 01:04 PM
Well, what WFC game doesn't, really?

Even more so considering the players will likely be continents apart.

So we can either find a game we can put up with, or try something else. I saw PV talking about having non-gaming competitions, like banner making and stuff. But that then brings up the matter of who will do the judging.

What I would suggest is some kind of online scavenger hunt, in the vein of URL-changing puzzles like notPron. Let's say after a week, X no. of players manage to make it through the whole puzzle-solving/trivia-finding/image-finding ordeal. (if nobody finishes, whoever gets furthest along wins.) They get to duke it out in a timed final after they are told how the clues are interrelated (say they form the lyrics to a song?).

This of course would require a lot out of our dear site admins tho :salute:

07-20-2008, 01:08 PM
Hmmmm that would be kind of fun, but I don't think I have that kind of time to manage that when I'm trying to do this PHPBB3 stuff, being a technologically challenged person and all. :blackeye:

07-22-2008, 11:38 AM
Why are we listing Spirit Caller for Yu-Gi-Oh? Shouldn't we be playing the most updated World Championship 2008?

Also I have posted another suggestion on gbatemp:

you can also do Bleach - Blade of Fate. The tournament can be ran Street Fighter style. Each match will be best 2 out of 3. Each round will be best 2 out of 3 matches. The winner needs to select the same character, but the loser will have the option to switch character if they wish.

also set a rule for "no cards."

player A selects Ichigo and player B selects Renji for the first match. best 2 out of 3. no cards.
Player A wins match 1.
match 2 player A must select Ichigo again, but player B has the option to select a different character.

Winner of the round will be determined when a player wins two matches.

07-22-2008, 12:44 PM
If you noticed, this thread is really quite old, we keep the same games since the start, mainly to keep things more organized. Of course if it is YuGiOh, we'd play the latest version.

07-23-2008, 03:50 PM
maybe we need to re-start a new poll each time a tournament has been decided then.

otherwise all the votes are just irrelevant.

07-24-2008, 12:45 AM
I pretty much completely ignore the votes. Just want some discussion, and thought this was a good thread to continue with.

07-24-2008, 08:54 AM
Hmmm, for a tourney, either Jump Ultimate Stars or Bleach sound good to me.

Jump sounds better though, considering it moves quickly and can support up to four people, meaning a tournament can move much quicker.

07-24-2008, 11:13 AM
Ummmm, we will play only 2 player matches, 4 player matches are a horrible, horrible hassle.

07-24-2008, 02:12 PM
Out of all these...

>Jump Ultimate Stars
>Bleach DS - The Blade of Fate
>YuGiOh! Worldwide Championships 2008
>Space Invaders Extreme
>The Legend of Zelda - The Phantom Hourglass
>Bomberman Land Touch
>Club House Games (either a card game or chess)
>Tetris DS (yes... again, highly unlikely, but I love the game. )

I'm going to vote for Space Invaders. Being a jazzed up retro game, it shouldn't be too hard for everyone to pick up. It would definitely give me a reason to try the game out once, finally.

07-27-2008, 08:20 PM
Jump Ultimate Stars. Thanks. And 4 way matches. That's more fun...

07-27-2008, 08:38 PM
Sorry, it has pretty much been decided to be Bleach DS The Blade of Fate. Jump Ultimate Stars may come next as I need to get a bit familiar with it, me_too_lazy and I felt that we didn't know the game well enough to host a tournament revolving around it.

07-28-2008, 12:06 AM
No, 4-player matches is a bad idea for Jump Ultimate Stars. It WILL run slow which will pretty much make people able to play the Dio stop time koma deck.

07-28-2008, 05:24 AM
So its blade of Fate, i better get practicing on it then!

07-28-2008, 08:33 AM
Um... DIO doesn't work in 4 player well. If it's 2p, DIO just needs to catch you off and ur dead...

07-28-2008, 04:32 PM
Um... DIO doesn't work in 4 player well. If it's 2p, DIO just needs to catch you off and ur dead...
You must be joking. If Dio uses time stop in 4 player it lags so much that the timestop even lasts longer. Dio IS better in 4p

07-28-2008, 05:25 PM
Exactly why we aren't doing JUS yet, I have no clue what you guys are talking about. :bounce:

So yea, all suggestions from this point on are going to be considered for our NEXT tournament.

07-28-2008, 05:45 PM
do you know the date of the tournament yet?

also if it's Bleach what rules are you going to set?

07-29-2008, 03:50 AM
The signup will most likely run for 2-3 weeks, setting the starting date of the tournament during late August. At the moment, I'm a bit swamped, got quite a few things on my mind other than the tournament (I apologize, bad timing for me to think about my PC), so the rules have yet to be determined. Generally I take 2 days to draft up the rules and regulations (have to play a few games online, get a feel for how balanced it is, explore the game deeper than I normally would), and then discuss with a moderator (seems to always be me_too_lazy).

I will keep you posted, it should be done by the end of the week, but then again, I'm trying to finish the EZ Flash V+ review as well.

07-29-2008, 10:25 AM
not sure if this is a common problem for other people, but i seem to experience lag quite often playing Bleach online.

maybe 1 out of every 2-3 people i experience lag with. some are tolerable, but others are simply frustrating. almost all the lag mess with the timing for my comboes, and i almost have to guess with my flashsteps ahead of time instead of reacting like i normally do.

is that common with everyone else?

08-05-2008, 05:08 AM
If I play national, it doesn't seem to lag, maybe one in every 5-8 people.

08-05-2008, 03:52 PM
But when you connect with Japanese people... you can't even move your guy.

09-16-2008, 08:41 PM
Hi everybody! It's that time again! Next tournament, what should we do?! My vote goes to clubhouse games, chess or something easier like the 5 in a row thing...

09-17-2008, 01:12 AM
Clubhouse games Chess, or BomberMan...

I would love to do a chess tournament... would be fun!

>goes to download CHG to start playing!

09-17-2008, 01:31 AM
Hard to cheat too, hint hint, lol sorry had to bring that up. :)

09-17-2008, 07:33 AM
i don't think i ever played the chess in CHG, but does that take a long time?

which bomberman game is the good one for tournament? man i haven't played any bomberman game in years...

09-17-2008, 11:45 AM
Very good point Pharaohs... *pulls out DS*...

Games that should be excluded from CHG's due to cheat codes :
Soda Shake
*any (card) game that involves chips*

Chess takes between a minute and 45 minutes depending on how good the players are, and how long they take...

I've had chess games last 3 days before (not on the DS, but with an actual chess board)

09-17-2008, 06:48 PM
Hmmmm Chess might be too long, although it could be a one match win all sort of thing.

As for bomberman, I think there is only 1 bomberman that was WiFi capable, but the few times I did play, I remember it lagged a ton.

09-18-2008, 05:21 PM
I think that all bomberman games have the classic bomberman in it. Never tried it on wifi. Oh how about Advance Wars Days of Ruin?

09-18-2008, 06:41 PM
Wouldn't that take a bit too long?

09-18-2008, 09:32 PM
Well it really depends on the map you are playing on. Plus they have a time limit on each turn so you have to move fast.

09-22-2008, 01:12 AM
Ermmmm, just a note, I plan to start the next tournament next weekend, so any suggestions would be GREAT. I think I should stay away from Advance Wars because of the fact that it can take forever, or it could go by real quick. Same with Chess, etc.

EDIT: Also, would it be wrong to have a Super Smash Brothers Brawl tournament for a site for DS stuff?
EDIT EDIT: Not exactly wise though, as the prizes for the next tourney are all Pro Battle Styluses. Brawl can wait until after.

09-22-2008, 01:22 AM
all stylus' this time?

should be a ds game...

Zelda phantom hourglass
Mortal Kombat

there's 3 that would be ok...

09-22-2008, 02:07 AM
zelda is really meh.... i can't stand the multiplayer, it is a mockery for all zelda stands for

yugioh, although i like the card game, it would be odd to sort out. how would the rules work, could everyone use cheats to get all the cards? haven't actually played the ds version

mortal kombat would rock#!@#

09-22-2008, 11:13 AM
i like yugioh.

getting all the cards is not really cheating, it's about the same as using a completed save.
i don't think you can even connect to the people who are using a different rule set (cards allowed) as you.

cheats may allow you to have a non-standard deck size (tourney rule states that your deck needs to be at least 40 cards), or using forbidden cards like the egyptian god cards. but those are easily spotted in the tourney.

from my experience playing online i don't believe i have dueled anything that cheated. disconnecting right before they lose was more of a problem.

it would be cool to play a yugioh tourney since we can set up best 2 out of 3 and allow the usage of side-decks, which will help balance out certain deck types.

Just saw this today on VGcats. I think it would be awesome to use competitive play for the next tourney.

Take a look at http://osu.ppy.sh/

Hmmmm... you make a good case with the YuGiOh, but I feel that the game is far too streamlined, I was hoping for a game that anyone can pick up and play (let's face it, the amount of people that joined the last tourney was pitiful).

@Zzz - is that a DS game? I'm confused.

Again, I'm kind of trying to push towards stuff like Tetris, Club House Games, etc. Chess would be really nice XD

09-23-2008, 12:26 AM
Jump! Ultimate Stars would be nice.

09-23-2008, 07:30 AM
for easy pick up and play i think Clubhouse Games will be a good choice. like the connect4 you suggested. =) although i can't seem to find connect4 in my clubhouse games, did you mean connect 5? or do i still need to unlock it.

also not sure if you do choice Clubhouse Games, not sure if you want to organize it like the one on gbatemp with 3 games and 4 players per match. i thought that experience was farily enjoyable even though i got knocked out in the first round.

classic bomberman would be fun and easy pick-up-and-play, too. even though i am not too familiar with which bomberman game we should use and how the lag is online.

09-23-2008, 10:47 AM
I have camp for the next few days, so the tournament will come right after that. And woops, I did mean connect 5.

09-24-2008, 06:07 AM
@Zzz - is that a DS game? I'm confused.

Nope, it's played on the PC with mouse (and the option to use keyboard buttons in place of mouse clicks)

It's basically Ouendan/EBA, but online (which is missing in the DS games.)

You mentioned the last time it didn't even need to be on the DS, and I think this seems like a really good compromise. It may not be on the DS, but is a clone of a DS game, and pretty darn easy to pick up.

09-26-2008, 09:12 PM
I can see your argument, but I think it is unsuitable because of the prizes. I'll be sure to consider it the next time, but because our prizes this time are so DS orientated, it wouldn't make too much sense, imo.

09-29-2008, 01:25 AM
Last chances to get in a say people!

09-29-2008, 06:57 AM
I think bomberman would be fun. :bounce:

09-30-2008, 07:12 PM
bleach: dark soul is coming out this weekend i think? haha! but i guess we don't really want another bleach tourney.... i had a blast tho. =P

10-01-2008, 06:35 PM
ClubHouse Games... with a twist...

During entry, you give FC, Contact, and Fav Game...

player1 - 1234 - myemail@bla - chess
player2 - 2345 - email2@bla - connect 5
player3 - 3456 - email3@bla - poker
player4 - 4567 - email4@bla - hold 'em

player1 and player2 would have to play chess and connect 5, and if tied, it would be Pharaohs/me_too's choice for the third game... and so on... sounds like a good idea... i guess, lol

Sorry for neglecting the new tournament. I have good news, AceKard has signed on to sponsor our next tournament, hopefully we can clear out the details, but I know that they are giving at least 1 AceKard 2.1+ (the new better... but cheaper ones). As well, the styli are going to be part of the tournament, although dependent on how many AceKard 2.1+'s we get.

So once I get that sorted out, and such, I will set up a signup list, put down the basic rules.

As for zidane, as much as I would love to do that, I think it would be a little hard for some players as they need to know multiple games to participate, learning just connect 5 or something is hard enough. Although it might not be a bad idea, anyone have any thoughts on this? I would find it really fun to participate, but keep in mind asides from people having fun, my next priority is to have as many people join as possible.

i think mario kart would be fun

just say no snaking, if some1 snakes get him/her out of the tournament like a rule, because i do know how to snake but might be a few people that dont, and its kinda like cheating because you are using something in the game that in a way it wasnt supposed to work

10-04-2008, 04:40 PM
how about darts in clubhouse games?

10-08-2008, 12:41 AM
Just wanted to update you guys, I have styluses from PDAPanache as prizes, but AceKard team is also sponsoring this upcoming tournament. So once I get it all settled, we will begin. Still not 100% sure what the game is yet though.

10-10-2008, 11:33 AM
so, what's going on now? do we have a list of confirmed prizes or the game to be played yet?

10-10-2008, 05:28 PM
I am waiting for AceKard team, they said something about National Holiday. I believe I will start the signup list tomorrow, perhaps even today.

10-14-2008, 02:25 PM
Bleach 2 is out, i believe it will most likely have Wifi, i havent played it yet tho..

12-10-2008, 11:53 AM
Should we start planning what game we might want as our next tournament?

12-10-2008, 07:05 PM
Certainly, keep posting suggestions, it doesn't hurt because I do look back (although I take more weight in more recent ones)

AND PLEASE NOTE: I am allowing repeat of games for the next tournaments, but only if you guys want to.

12-11-2008, 02:36 AM
Pokemon but no Pokesav.

12-11-2008, 08:12 AM
Mario Kart, or any fighter (button masher)

12-11-2008, 10:52 PM
Zidane, fighter games generally lag over wifi.

12-12-2008, 08:42 AM
the lag in bleach tourney wasn't so bad. it was only noticable in one of my matches.

12-16-2008, 05:46 PM
how about Bomberman Land Touch 2? I haven't started playing that game but I think it has a 4-player battle mode over wifi (is that like the classic bomberman?), can someone confirm?

12-16-2008, 05:52 PM
we could have JUS, ive played it over wifi and found it hasnt lagged that much.

12-27-2008, 04:54 PM
I voted other, for Puyo Puyo. :s

12-27-2008, 11:49 PM
Mario Kart DS because well I kill at that game!

03-11-2009, 11:33 AM
i dont think mario kart is good(to many hackers)
I will go for worms :compress:

03-11-2009, 10:14 PM

03-12-2009, 06:22 PM
see? face it guys, that game is not mentioned a whole ton but it is hella fun. I say make it a game, if so youll bet ill be in it. All these other games IMO are easy to hack and win. Its not really fair TBH. So Pharaoh, would you like to add this game to the list?      :colors: :colors:

08-12-2009, 07:18 AM
It would be cool if there was a Mario KArt Contest, despite there being one in the past I think.

08-12-2009, 09:42 AM
There was one, so we'd prefer to look for new games.

08-12-2009, 01:44 PM
Naw, it's not really a problem to go back to Mario Kart or whatever, it has been quite a while now...

08-12-2009, 07:05 PM
Good. I missed out on getting to flatten people with my leet skills. Which reminds me...I've gotta start a Time Trial Thread for the best times :D

Unless some body else wants to do it...

08-14-2009, 04:34 PM
can we please close this thread? as we have a more updated "next tournament suggestion" thread open that we are keeping tabs. =)

08-14-2009, 04:45 PM
By the way guys, I may choose to do a more popular game rather than do something you guys want. Need to draw in more viewers, and you know... I have veto :)

06-27-2010, 12:26 PM
Does DSDatabase ever have contests with Wii games like Tetris Party?

06-27-2010, 01:26 PM
There hasn't been one yet. Don't know if there ever will be.

06-27-2010, 06:33 PM
Does DSDatabase ever have contests with Wii games like Tetris Party?

If enough votes go towards a game like that, sure. :)

06-27-2010, 11:14 PM
I don't have a Wii though...

06-28-2010, 12:15 AM
I don't and probably won't ever own a wii.

06-28-2010, 12:47 AM
I sort of want to buy another Wii again. It's nice and cheap, has a few fun games that will make it well worth it.

Mario Kart Wii alone is worth it!

06-28-2010, 08:28 PM
But...The playstation 3 in my room is just crying for attention.
