    First off, welcome to DSDatabase V5, and Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoy the new look, the obvious absense of spambots, and perhaps, if you had the chance to try, our new blog system.

    So with the start of 2010 we are going to do yet another raffle. I have 1 copy of Left 4 Dead 1 to give out and 2 Heroes of Newerth beta keys. If there are enough people, we will add even more prizes! That's right, we are giving out computer games! This raffle was not meant to celebrate the new years alone, but also the fact that we have members with diverse interests. Hopefully, as our blog opens to the public, we will have articles that are just as interesting and unique as our members.

    Entering the raffle can't be any simpler, no registrations required, not much thinking, and just seconds of your time. So I hope you'll participate in our first raffle of the new year, and the first raffle hosted on this new board!

    The rules:
    - Raffle entries will be accepted until midnight January 14th, 2010 (Pacific Standard Time)
    - To get a ticket, simply comment on this post with your feelings towards the new DSDatabase, and if possible, any ideas, criticisms, etc. It needs to be at least 3 words long, and can be anything, whether you hate the new blue-white colors, or that you found a bug in the system.
    - NEW RULE I forgot to mention that some method of contacting you is necessary, so email address in the post, in your username field, something if you are not signed up. You can even link to a profile on another site with you email address, but I need some way of contacting you.
    - To get one extra ticket, you can post one blog entry on our blog. It is open to the public now, and anyone can post. The scope is almost all encompassing, so as long as it is of reasonable quality, it will earn you one extra ticket. Of course be sure to read the blog rules HERE for further clarification.
    - Winners will choose their prizes in the order that they are raffled, and to receive their prize, they must respond within 3 days of receiving their emails.
    - EXTRA PRIZES will be added if we beat our participation record of 356 UNIQUE members!

      I like the new design. I've been away from the site for a while, but it's looking really sharp. Also, increased security and blocking the spambots is a double-bonus.

      Though I'm not too against the "blue-white" design, would it be possible to get some darker themes in here? (It hurts my eyes - as it's quite dark when I get to use my PC.) :/ I do like the fact that I only need to sign in once now, though.

      One of the nice things about the new design is it molds together perfectly. In the older DSDatabase, when you clicked on the forum tab, it didn't look like the theme of the blog at all. VBulliten has done a great job having a blog and forum environment.

      @MasterPenguin - The blue-white design is the default design for vBulletin. I like the style, but I too think it's a little bright. I will switch themes eventually, but I have a lot to learn, vBulletin is kind of different from phpBB3 and wordpress.
      @Shadz - I dunno if I should count that as an entry :P@briankealing - Heh, you know that old design, it was meant for certain browsers. Certain browsers made it look perfect as it transitions, but then something like IE7 would make it look totally different. :P
      @DeltaBurnt - Nope I figured you guys will post something up, you have a 2 week window. If not, I guess I'll decide then O what the hell, sure, I'll give all our old bloggers the blog ticket. But don't let that stop you from posting...

      I personally like the new colours, I enjoy it alot more than the old forum, and everything seems nicer. I do however get the feeling (or impression) that its just a tad congested, I don't exactly know why..its just a feeling.


      I would also like to contribute 1 (one) HoN key to the raffle. Upon claiming this key, you will be forced to play one game with Shadz =)

      Meh. Kinda don't like how the older articles are shrunken down in size, but all in all, looks nice.

      Hmmm, are you talking about the front page Shadz? I found the CMS software that vBulletin provided to be a little restrictive. They say they will update it, hopefully it'll be a little free-er for me to move things around, I know what you mean definitely.Yes, the old articles are a little weird, I don't think there is any avoiding that. They were written in Wordpress, sized to fit that webpage. I will be going through them to fix over the next few weeks though.

      Overall I like the look. The only issue I really have is the line on the top of the selected item in the navigation. I think with dsdatabase being as old as it is, some kind of icon to symbolize what the site has become is needed to spruce it up that much more. Nothing really over the top but yeah!

      good job on the new website layout XD i see the 20,000 or so manual entries paid off big time you still owe me that dota game...and hopefully if i win this raffle, i can start seeing the reasons why fps is so addicting - you can probably guess who this is :P

      Yes the forum is cooler now :P I definitely love the absence of spambots. I may utilize the blogs, much more then on the Temp.
