GOOD FRIDAY RAFFLE WINNER! And details of Easter Monday Raffle

Congrats to the winners! I think the video should be explain who won and the process of how they won… So without further ado…

Also keep in mind that entering the Easter Monday Raffle, you need to comment a SECOND time on DSDatabase. I can’t stress that enough. You are NOT entered if you posted yesterday or the day before. So keep those comments coming for your chance to win an M3DS Real…

Also, note that I’ve begun porting in some of the older reviews on DSDatabase into the blog. Feel free to comment on them so they don’t seem so dead… XD Those comments count too :)

PS. I will post up the winners in the first comment, so you don’t need to watch the lengthy video.

Easter Cart Giveaway!

EDIT: I have to make this clear, once the Friday raffle is over (and it is), you have to comment or post a SECOND time to enter the Monday raffle.

With Easter coming right up and me feeling absolutely ecstatic, there will be yet another giveaway! This time, sponsored by the M3 team, we will be giving away 1 cart on Good Friday and one on Easter Monday. As usual, simply post any comment on any blog from now until friday to enter the first competition, and post another comment between friday and monday to enter the second raffle. Obviously you have to give me a valid email so I can contact someone if they win.

FiiO PS1110 Walkbox - A Phenomenal Portable Speaker

For some time now, I’ve been looking for a portable speaker, one to bring to school or just at a friends house and just blast music into them. It isn’t exactly easy to do this when your entire music collection is on your iPod. It is quite a hassle to take your music out (coming up in another post soon), or to connect to a larger dock. Instead I found myself looking through the various local shops for something a bit easier to manage. I’ve heard about plenty of portable speaker where you just plug the speaker into the audio jack of your MP3 player, but generally they aren’t well received.

Here I am again in awe with yet another amazing product from FiiO. Titled the PS1110 Walkbox, this portable speaker is about the size of an iPod Classic; slightly smaller in width but longer in height, and almost the same thickness. What is amazing about this speaker is the quality of the sound, and the volumes it reaches. I had to go through a few of the crappy speakers that are offered in shops before actually going online to order this. DealExtreme.com and Focalprice.com both stock the FiiO PS1110, and if you aren’t planning to read any further, go order them now, you won’t be disappointed.

Battle.net Relaunch - Battle.net V2.0

You may dismiss this immediately as a who cares sort of thing, but with the relaunch of Battle.net, there are obviously new updates, and apparently someone had gotten an invite to the Starcraft 2 BETA through this. I’m still thinking that it is definitely a fake, but still, I might as well post it since not everyone is dismissing it.

Ranger NDS GPS System

Today I just received the Ranger NDS GPS System from the M3 Team. For those of you who don’t know what this is, the Ranger is a GPS system designed by the people at www.dsgis.net. The goal is simple, to provide a way for DS users to use the GPS (Global Positioning System) system to locate their exact coordinates.

Quake Live BETA

Quake Live is yet another browser game, that is to say that you can play it straight from FireFox or Internet Explorer or any other web browser that is currently supported.

I initially tried the game the day it came out. I waited a good 2 and a half hours to reach the front of the queue.

LOOOOOOOOOOOONG WAIT

The good news is that lately I haven’t encountered any queues, I think they are beyond the point of narrowing the amount of users anymore. The bad news for me was that after the long wait, you have to actually download the game. So much for a browser game…

Let the games BEGIN!

Valentine’s Giveaway Winners!

I finally got around to doing the video. This time, as you’ll notice immediately, it is all computer generated. It actually took more time to setup Fraps and Camstudio than it would have just cutting out the slips of paper, but I guess it’s time invested to save time for later raffles.

Anyways, the winners of the M3DS Real and iTouchDS are announced in the video with my notepad and slow typing. The video was a lot longer than I thought it would be, but I guess in a way that is the suspence you guys want so much. :) Oddly enough, today also marks the release of the first English BETA of the M3DS Real’s fame Sakura firmware. So hopefully I can get the carts shipped out ASAP so you guys can test it out. :)

For those of you who are impatient, the names are listed right below, in the first comment. Those who have WON: PLEASE REPLY TO THE EMAIL THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN SENT TO YOUR “VALID” EMAIL ADDRESSES. YOU WILL HAVE UNTIL FEBRUARY 19th, 2009, 12:00AM PST, NOT A MINUTE MORE OR LESS.

Fallen Empire Legions - InstantAction.com

null

I was browsing for a few flash games to pass the time during exam times, and a certain game that had me absolutely hooked was a game at InstantAction.com. It probably isn’t anything close to flash, but it is a browser based game. This means that if you are running Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer, etc, you would be able to play the game straight from your web browser.

null

What is Fallen Empire Legions? It is a multiplayer first person shooter game (FPS) that seems to have a fair number of people playing. It isn’t demanding, it is available on a browser, etc. For me, this game obviously doesn’t replace my good old CounterStrike or Unreal Tournament, but it does a nice job of letting me game when I go to a friend’s house with no games. I can quickly boot up a game anywhere and start playing.

Splashtop - Can’t wait to see more netbooks with it!

It’s been a long time coming, but I think the newly released Asus N10 netbook is the first netbook (I stand corrected, it seems Lenovo had the first netbooks with Splashtop) to be equipped with Splashtop.  I’ve been hoping that splashtop would come to more laptops and computers faster, but it doesn’t seem to be getting too much interest or attention anywhere.

null

Splashtop is basically a way to speed up the time between turning your computer on and you surfing the net and listening to some music.  Basically it is a way for you to boot a secondary OS (Splashtop) that can be loaded in a matter of seconds.  This OS is limited to only web browsing, music, skype, photos, and instant messaging, which means you’ll have to restart your computer if you want to do your homework or play some games.
