Halloween Raffle! EZ Flash Vi

Halloween is coming up and I promised another raffle. For this ghoulish occasion, we are giving out an EZ Flash Vi cart, and I suppose the black and yellow (possibly orange) design is a perfect fit for this competition.

Halloween Raffle!

Anyways, there are two methods to enter this time, either from the blog or the forum for a single entry, or both for two separate entries!

So the instructions:
Blog:
1. Post on this thread with a short Halloween story or a description of what you plan to wear for trick or treating or your Halloween parties. Minimum of 15 words. Please include a valid email address in the email address box, or use an account with a valid email address which is the method I will contact the winners.

Forum:
1. Sign up from the blog or the forum side. Please use a valid email address, that is the method I will contact you.
2. Have a post count of 2 or more, so feel free to post new threads or reply to old threads now (please avoid replying to threads that are very old).
3. Post anything in the signup thread to confirm your entry.

The raffle is open until midnight of October 31st, 2009, Pacific Time.

Good luck everyone!

PS. Feel free to use the banner in your signatures in other sites, etc. :)

Get the most out of the DS Browser!

For those who still own a copy of the DS Browser, you’re bound to someday miss the functionalities of a full fledged desktop browser. Not only can you not open a new “tab” nor save cookies, the DS browser feels sort of incomplete. Even when you check off “Automatically log me in” on any sort of webpage, it simply doesn’t work.

So I dug around for a bit, and found some pretty awesome “extra features” that you can easily “install” to the DS Browser. Not only is there a tabbing feature, there’s also a password-saving like feature to save time logging in to webpages. Want to find out how? Read on!

EZ Flash Vi OFFICIAL Review!

dscn0338

Hello guys, this is shadowhunter93. This is my first review in the big leagues of flash cart reviewing… Kinda nerve racking. This whole review talk is boring me, so let’s plunge into the review. This EZ Flash Vi was provided to me by one PharaohsVizier, my new best friend round the online world these days. It came in the mail yesterday and I’ve been tinkering with it ever since then. I think now I’ve got a good handle on this cart, so let’s get on with the review! Read the rest of this entry »

0ShippingZone.com NEW DSDatabase Sponsor

We have a new sponsor with us that is excited to work with me, and they are the people at www.0shippingzone.com. They seem like a good store offering cheap prices. They are based in China, so they are competing with several companies that offer the rock bottom prices, but it seems their big selling point is that their packaging time is significantly lower, and their prices are fairly similar to begin with.

0ShippingZone

Right now, they are embarking on a review collection, they are asking for reviewers with some experience to write their comments on each of the carts and create useful how-to videos so that their customers can make an informed decision which is quite honorable. I look forward to seeing the reviews published there, and I’ve already subscribed to their YouTube channel.

Also I thought I’d mention that they are having a grand opening sale that brings a few of their products to prices even lower than DealExtreme, most notably the CycloDS Evolution. So please support DSDatabase by supporting our sponsors! Thank you

Links to their current promotion items right now:
(Prices listed are with coupon code “opening”)

CycloDS Evolution ($40.41)
iPlayer ($35.29)
M3i Zero ($24.13)
AceKard 2i ($16.28)
R4DS ($5.53)
** Free black extendable stylus for either the DSi or DS Lite with any purchase of a flash cart! **

EZ Flash Vi Review

Thanks to the EZ Flash team, we now have an EZ Flash Vi review up! They seemed extremely confident when they asked me to review the cart, and I was a little worried with their software labelled as alpha and beta, etc, while the old ones were “stable”. But they assured me that it would be worth my time to look at their product, so I did.

DSi and EZ Flash Vi

And I have to thank them for giving me the opportunity to review the cart. It is most definitely a contender against the AceKard 2i and M3i Zero, one that can fight along side those two carts evenly. I think the cart is UNDERRATED, and UNDER APPRECIATED. Be sure to check this cart out, it may be my new main flash cart.

Just as a taste of what the cart can do:
- The browser is FAST. So scrolling through your games is actually faster on the EZ Flash Vi than the AceKard 2i or M3i Zero
- Load times are about the same, if not faster than the AceKard 2i and M3i Zero
- A pseudo-enhanced menu, it doesn’t look as polished as the CycloDS Evolution, but there is a menu for real time guide, real time save, etc.
- Real time save (nothing special here except that they have it)
- Real time guide (arguably the best one on the market), able to run 2 guides for one game, supports pictures, scrolls fast, but requires a program to format

So head on to the EZ Flash Vi Review.

GameByGame iPlayer Raffle Winner!

As promised, I’m announcing the winner right now in a video. I apologize for using excel and random.org again, but 356 slips of paper are just too many to handle.

So what are the chances of winning? Not good, 1/356 which is roughly 0.3%. But then again, someone has to win in the end. Watch the video to find out if you are the winner!

To the winner, PLEASE reply to the email in your inbox within 3 days else you will be forfeiting your prize.

To skip the video, just read the first comment posted below. Congrats to the winners!

Mighty Flip Champs! Review

Mighty Flip Champs

Hello again! DeltaBurnt here delivering my first of many expected DSiWare reviews. As you may know already DSiWare are applications you can download from the DSi Shop channel. These applications can have many different purposes, but most of the time these applications are games. DSiWare also can take advantage of the DSi’s new power and two cameras (unlike most retail games). Each DSiWare application costs either 200, 500, 800+, or no DSi points at all (100 points basically equals a dollar). Anyways in this blog post I will be reviewing Mighty Flip Champs!, one of the more recent games from WayForward. Continue reading to see the full review.

YIHAO Headset Review

Hey guys I’m DeltaBurnt. I’m a new blogger here for DS Database :) . Basically I’m just going to post some fun blogs and do reviews of various electronics and toys (possibly flashcarts if I get one that hasn’t been reviewed here yet). Anyways I’m doing a review of a cheap 9 dollar headset on dealextreme. This is a headset from YIHAO that has a microphone (you probably already know that from picture ^^). That’s it right up there *points towards the picture at the top*. Yep that baby’s only 9 dollars! Is it worth it? Or will it fall apart the second you pick it up? Continue reading to find out!

iPlayer Giveaway - Sponsored by GameByGame!

Our newest sponsor GameByGame is generously offering a DSiPlayer flash cart for a free raffle. They’ve been with us for no time at all and are already willing to shell out some serious prizes, so be sure to support them as well as supporting us by visiting this site, participating in this raffle and of course buying from GameByGame.com. And the most impressive part of this raffle is the fact that it takes practically nothing to participate, you quite literally provide your email address and you are good to go.

GameByGame and DSDatabase

What is the iPlayer, and why would you want it? [Read the DSDatabase iPlayer Review] Well if you haven’t been with the scene lately, be sure to check it out. This $50 flash cart is one of the most expensive out there because it is completely unique. So if you have an AceKard 2i or an M3i Zero, getting the iPlayer is still completely sane. The iPlayer is not a flash cart designed to play commercial games, instead it focuses on homebrew and multimedia, and it does it well. With the latest news that the iPlayer now has the one and only GameBoy Advance emulator, making it the ONLY GameBoy Advance solution for the Nintendo DSi, as well as the only cart that can play avi, mp4, flv and other video codecs without any conversion, the iPlayer is without a doubt a unique cart.

How do you participate in this raffle?
It is simple, you simply reply to ANY DSDatabase blog post with a valid email address during the allotted time. You do so by filling out the form at the very bottom of the page. If you are a DSDatabase member, just post anything, and I will use the email address tied to your account, if not, then you will have to fill in your email address in the email address field or just include it in your post. Now it isn’t necessary for you to post anything else, but I’d personally prefer a sentence or two rather than blank responses. :P  So recap:

- reply to any blog post
- make sure there is a valid email address
- that is ALL you need to do

I also encourage users to post on our forum and subscribe to the DSDatabase YouTube channel. I may or may not decide to reward those who do. :P
